The history of Chopard begins in 1860 with the watchmaker Louis-Uris Chopard’s watchmaker’s workshop in Sonvilier, Switzerland. Today, Chopard has a strong impression of luxury jewelers, but at the time of its establishment, it was a pure watch maker specializing in high-precision pocket watches and chronometers. Its high accuracy has been adopted as the official clock of the Swiss railway. Its reputation quickly spread throughout Europe, and Chopard watches became popular in the courts of Emperor Nicholas II of Russia.
